Stuart McKissick (1807-1882)
     He operated a boat on the Erie Canal from 1833 to 1838 when he moved to Albany. There he operated a transportation and produce business until he retired in 1873. He was appointed by the legislature as a member of a board to establish a free school. Stuart served as president of the Board of Trade in 1849 and was a member of the Canal Commission in 1868. He was also a trustee of the National Exchange Bank and the First Presbyterian Church.
Stuart was born on 27 November 1807 at Saco, ME. He married Julia Ann Norton circa 1830.1 He married Elizabeth McIntyre on 10 September 1844. Stuart died on 29 August 1882 at Albany, NY, at age 74.
