He was still alive and married to his 2nd wife, Ruth, in 1679 and apparently died prior to 1684 as his widow married Thomas Dutton of Billerica on 10 Nov. of that year. William's 1st wife was named Elizabeth. Reference: 3297. He married Elizabeth Marshall, daughter of Capt. Thomas Marshall and Rebecca ????. William Hooper was born circa 1617 at Reading?, England. He was a freeman at Stamford in 1663 (recorded as Husted). He moved to what is now Westchester County, NY in 1662. In 1673 he was recorded as swearing allegiance to the Dutch as a Quaker. He is listed in the Encyclopedia of of American Quaker Genealogy by Wm. W. Hinshaw. as an active member from 1684. Other ref. 'Old Fairfield' by D. L. Jacobus, Gen. Pub. Co. 1976. His will was proved 20 Mar 1704/05. Reference: 3299. Robert Huestis was also known as Husted Huestis. He was born circa 1628 at Pilsdon?, Dorset, England.
