Stuart McKissick He operated a boat on the Erie Canal from 1833 to 1838 when he moved to Albany. There he operated a transportation and produce business until he retired in 1873. He was appointed by the legislature as a member of a board to establish a free school. Stuart served as president of the Board of Trade in 1849 and was a member of the Canal Commission in 1868.
